Helicon Kuan recently moved back to the Bay Area from Santa Barbara, CA to serve as an Associate Pastor at Chinese for Christ Church of San Jose (CFCCSJ). Born in San Francisco, CA, Helicon has grown up in a few different places in California and in Illinois. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara, Helicon began to work locally in the SB area and over the next few years discovered his calling into ministry. After leaving for four years to pursue his seminary studies at Western Seminary and serve locally in the Bay Area, Helicon returned to Santa Barbara to serve as the Interim English Pastor at the Chinese EV Free Church of Santa Barbara (CEFCSB). While in SB, Helicon also served as a Campus staffer for UCSB’s Asian American Christian Fellowship (AACF),
In his free time, Helicon enjoys: working out, training Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, supporting Bay Area Sports teams (DUBS!; Niners; Giants), playing board games, playing console games, brewing and drinking coffee, driving cars, experiencing tasty places to eat with friends, listening to podcasts and music, and reading. Recently, Helicon rediscovered Dungeons & Dragons and enjoys role playing games with friends too.
By the grace of God, Helicon recently won his fight with cancer (Hodgkin’s Lymphoma), and is currently getting back into shape as he enjoys his new life in San Jose.
