- Summer Retreat (6/17-6/19): Next weekend we will be participating at our church wide retreat at Redwood Christian Park. For map and directions, please see inserted flyer. Today is the last day to register. For more info, contact Daniel Chen (dantchen83@sbcglobal.net)
- No EM Activities Next Weekend: Due to the church-wide summer retreat next weekend, there will be no English worship service, no Sunday School, no Saltshakers youth group and no Community Group gatherings. All regular gatherings will resume the following weekend.
- Saltshakers: We will NOT be gathering this Saturday (6/18) due to the upcoming church-wide summer retreat. We will gather the following Saturday. For more information, contact Daniel Chen (dantchen83@sbcglobal.net).
- College/Grad Students & Community Groups: All are invited the following Sunday (6/26) from 4:30 – 7:00 pm at Pastor Joey’s house for dinner and fellowship as we spend time eating, reflecting and sharing about the past year of community groups and/or college.
Prayer Requests & Praises
- Pray for our summer retreat! For our speaker (Stephan Williams), our praise & worship leader (Jeff Gee), and our Retreat Committee as they coordinate and plan things. Pray that through the retreat we would not only be strengthened in our faith but also emboldened to share and defend our faith.
- Praise God for our 8th grade graduates (Grace Huang, Hannah Lu, Ashley Song, and Gloria Tan)!
- Praise God for our recent college graduates (Rebecca Chang, Ariel Cheng, Michael Chu, Clay Song, Melody Tan, Terry Tsai, and Vivian Liao). Pray for them during this season of transition.
- Praise God for our incoming 6th graders (Emma Tu, Emma Su, Caleb Chou, Nancy Shih, Lucy Ma, Samuel Fan, Wilson Lu, Daphne Guo, Sean He, Jayden Lim, Mark Kersey, and Jeremy Ko). Pray for them as they slowly transition into our English Ministry.
- Pray for our English ministry as we prepare for Pastor Joey’s sabbatical (July-September) as well as Pastor Kenny’s transition later in the fall.

Answer: The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin, comforts us, guides us, gives us spiritual gifts and the desire to obey God; and he enables us to pray and to understand God’s Word.
Passage(s): Ephesians 6:17-18 – “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.”
